I had a very disappointing experience with Contemporary Studios photography. I got married on September 21st, 2024, and hired Stan for the "storybook coverage." The description promised to photograph everything at the wedding, take about 900 pictures, and put about 350 4x5’s into an album. (We only received 214 from what was promised) I was excited to receive my photo book and digital copies, but it took about a month and a half to get the book. When I went to his house to collect it and asked for my digital photos, Stan immediately had an attitude and said, “if you are just going to have them printed at Walmart or Walgreens I’d rather you just print them through me.” This was a huge red flag, but I informed him it was for personal use and storage. He promised to put them on a flash drive within the week but never called me back.
I left four voicemails over a month with no reply. One of my wedding attendees mentioned that Stan had complained to them about me being 10 minutes late, which is very unprofessional. It took filing a lawsuit (which I dropped after receiving the digital copies) and my husband leaving a voicemail for Stan to call back, claiming he didn't recognize my husband's area code. This is despite me leaving four voicemails with my local area code. Finally, we picked up the photos, but when my husband asked for the original photos, Stan declined. He claimed he didn’t not want unedited photos associated with his business. And I see why. The photos we received were awful, he used AI to edit them and quite a few looked freaky and inhuman. The grass in the backgrounds of most of the photos were patchy and just looked very obviously edited. The photo quality was also awful on all the photos he used AI on (a few of the photos on the drive we not edited with AI and were higher quality)This experience was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. And to top it all off I have no pictures of my father’s speech or our dance. I would not recommend Contemporary Studios photography especially if these kind of photos that HE edited are what he associates with his business.

I recently had a headshot taken by Stan at his studio for an application to a medical residency. It turned out fantastic! He was kind, funny, and helped me to relax and not look "awkward." He was prompt, and pictures included editing. I look forward to hiring Stan for other photos. Highly recommend.
