It was unusual to find a "nouveau" style farm-to-fork restaurant hours from any significant city. But here it was and my wife and I decided to try it while passing through Burlington on I-70. The food was good but we spent a long time dining. The place wasn't busy; the atmosphere was merely relaxed. Neither the staff nor the patrons seemed to be in a hurry. I enjoyed my "endless" corn chowder soup, salad, and garlic bread off the "Twelve Buck Lunch" menu. The portions were generous. If you have time while traveling across eastern Colorado/western Kansas I recommend giving the Dish Room a try.

The hubby and I took a drive from Strasburg to Burlington just to get out of the house. Not having ate that morning, we were pretty hungry by the time we made it to Burlington (after stopping off in Hugo first). The hubs was looking for local places to eat that were open and we were so excited to know that the restaurant was open on Saturday at 11 AM (it was 2 PM when we got there). We saw that The Dish Room was open and turned around to go back to the restaurant. It was really empty which sometimes can be a bad thing, but it was after traditional lunch time. We were greeted right away and also waited on right away. There was a variety of different types of cultural food... The hubs went for the special of Prime Rib and 2 sides. I went for the sink burger with fries and a sweet corn tamale. Holy cow... not only were the portions gigantic but mouth-watering. Delicious! Our server- James was amazing and very kind! We will drive an hour and 50 minutes just to go back! Thank you for the delicious and amazing experience.

If you’re lucky enough to find this restaurant you’re in for an incredible treat - the food is AMAZING, fresh, a little on the fancy side, but simply INCREDIBLE- and prices are really reasonable! The trout was fresh, and really tasty! The Spider BBQ sandwich, pulled pork with ham AND BACON was almost too good to be believed! Sweet Corn tamales were outstanding! I’d go WAY out of my way to come eat here again!

One of the best meals I have had in my life. Steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The sweet corn tamales and mashed potatoes were also outstanding. Don't miss the bread pudding for dessert.

This place is a gem just off the highway. I was in town several weeks for business and ate here many times. The food is phenomenal, steaks are perfectly cooked every time. They also clearly mark things gluten free but definitely ask because things like beer cheese on baked potatoes is something they do. Also, get dessert, the make your own sundae is awesome.

An Absolute Gem in Burlington!

If you’re ever in Burlington, CO, do yourself a favor and stop by The Dish Room at 218 S Lincoln St. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warmest, kindest manager, Carlos, who truly makes you feel like family. His hospitality alone is reason to visit, but the food will blow you away.

Let’s start with the Cluck Norris—this chicken sandwich is nothing short of legendary. Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, it’s a game-changer. And don’t even get me started on the chicken fried steak with gravy. It’s comfort food done right, with perfectly seasoned, tender steak smothered in rich, creamy gravy that just melts in your mouth. Both dishes are hearty, satisfying, and full of flavor.

Their cocktails? Equally impressive! Whether you’re in the mood for a classic or something with a creative twist, they’ve got it. The drinks perfectly complement the menu and add that extra bit of indulgence to your meal.

Overall, The Dish Room is a must-visit if you’re in the area. With Carlos leading the way in service and a menu that delivers on every level, it’s easily one of the best dining experiences around. Highly recommend!

A great independent eatery in Burlington, CO. We arrived with only 45 mins until closing but this was not an issue. Kendell our server was fantastic and due to an even later walk in we stayed for another round of beers past closing time. The food was great, the prime rib is a must if it's on offer and others in our party enjoyed the burger and pasta. Surprised the prime rib did not come with some sort of sauce or gravy as standard. The sweet potato side is an acquired taste for sure. If we are over nighting in Burlington this will be our go to place in the future
