I keep a very close eye on the Sugarloaf claw machines at my local Walmart. Over the course of the last month and a half it dispensed about 4 prizes. The claw is not big enough to close around most prizes, and it's too weak to pick anything up otherwise.

The company claims to be committed to "fair play". "We would NEVER rig our machines" they say. But what that really means is their machines do not have a programmed payout rate.

Sugarloaf's dirty little secret: players would win more if the machines were "rigged" because a prize would then be dispensed every x number of plays. Instead, player's always experience the same weak claw every play, no matter how much money they shovel into the machines.

This is why claw machines (and Sugarloaf/NEN in particular) have a bad reputation despite their brilliant but dishonest marketing.

They took ALL THE GAMES OUT OF ALMOST EVERY WALMART IN MY CITY. No more fun while shopping. Have to drive very far to my local arcade to win prizes. I win these prizes out the games to put as prizes in the arcade games we own. NEN PLEASE PUT THE GAMES BACK

I put ร  5$ in the machine and only got ร  $1 back. Letter said refund amount will not exceed the cost of one play. This company is such a ripe off. You can't call them because all refund are done online.

Iโ€™m a small business owner and they removed my machines from a location they had their machines in just because of greed.

Charged my card for air, but the machine is missing the part to connect to the tire. The number listed goes to a number that says, โ€œThank you, Goodbyeโ€. Seriously! ๐Ÿ˜• Alvin Tx

โ€œWhile attempting to use one of your gumballs vending machines my special needs son lost his money ($0.75) twice, as no product was delivered. There must be a local servicing agent that monitors and refills the machines. It would encourage greater patronage if we had a reasonable assurance the operators of the machines were willing to make things right, as opposed to an online process that all but states a reticence to refund anything! I am inclined to discourage any children from spending money in this very indefinite exchange. Would love to hear back from you. David Friedman

I've been trying to contact someone from NEN for approx. 2 months. No return e-mails or calls. You only get voice mails (never returned).
