We visited 4/9/24. Enjoyed the free snowshoeing daytime and observed clear northern lights at night! KP index was 4 and pretty cloudy night but we made it!! We stopped on the way to vista point with a wide view, it was a prefect spot for it!!

Very educational and entertaining visit for kids and adults alike. Short walk from the visitors center - just follow the dinosaur foot prints! For people collecting stamps in their passport, there as an extra stamp spot here! It was less busy than the main visitors area and it has dinosaur fossils. Educational displays on the flora and fauna of the area as well as bathrooms for visitors. This was a great small side trip on our visit to Denali.

A must place to stop for information, photo ops, educational material, and its relevance to those who want their National Park Passport get stamped. Also, the place to lease (borrow) gear for snowshoeing. Across the street is another building where you can have a meal (we have packed lunch) while watching short films about Denali Sled Dog. There are 2 park staff that answer questions and provide needed information. The place is small but with a clean restroom. I am glad they have a place such as this for wintertime.

Park ranger was there upon arrival. Very helpful considering it’s still winter off season, suggesting trails, providing maps and letting us know you can drive out to mile marker 12. Beautiful winter scenery.

Check web site for business hours before you go. It’s usually around 1-3pm for spring/summer time. The science lab has hands-on lab activities good for all ages. The exhibition is very informative. Definitely you should stop here for things to do in Denali, very kids friendly!

This center is not only very educational but a major resource of information from the park employees themselves. There is a restroom and a comfortable area to sit down and rest. Maps and up to date weather and roads conditions is also available. Make sure to pay your fee or to show your pass so they can keep track of the number of visitors.

It serves as the Visitors centre during Winter and Spring when the main Visitor centre is closed. Park rangers were helpful in sharing the maps and trails that are open and do able during our visit. Visited in the third week of April.

Very hands on for kiddos. Takes about 30 to 60 minutes depending on child engagement. We loved exploring owl pellets, fossils with the scope, and animal "messes." The ranger was informative and friendly.
