You may be surprised to learn that there are sailors in Wichita Falls, but we’re here and we’re glad you found us. If you live in North Texas and share our love of sailing – or even think you may – then you’ve come to the right place. We don’t require our members to be expert sailors or even own a sailboat. All we ask is that you show an interest in sailing. Our philosophy is simple – SAILING IS FUN AND EVERYONE SHOULD DO IT!
The Wichita Falls Sailing Club began when a group of sailors and would-be sailors gathered on the south shore of Lake Wichita in the spring of 1935. We moved to our current location on Lake Arrowhead in 1973. Our club facility is located on a large peninsula of land on the northeast shore of the lake, off Crow Trace. The facility is fully fenced and secured and includes a spacious clubhouse, docks and slips, a concrete boat ramp, boat hoist, a mast-lifting crane, and a nice pavilion near the shoreline.
Lake Arrowhead is one of the best sailing lakes in Texhoma, with 14,930 acres and 106 miles of shoreline. The derricks that dot the north end of the lake are inactive now, but there is plenty of area around them for cruising or racing. And the derricks make excellent landmarks for returning to the club grounds.
There are several different types of sailboats you will see at WFSC. The Dinghys, Lasers, Flying Scots, Multihull Boats and Keelboats. Come out some race day and see what our club is all about. You just might get lucky and get to go sailing!!! COME OUT AND HAVE FUN.

This club is an incredible organization. Between the different boat support equipment, variety of race classes, and wealth of knowledge members are happy to share its easy to fit into the club. With the club having multiple launching points it easy to setup into the wind (Something other ramps on the lake lack). Can't say enough good things about the club.

St. Patty's was just absolutely lovely today with family. Wind was on point & it was just so peaceful at the lake. If you want to sail your worries away? This is the place here in North Texas. Watching these Texas sunset's is like God's kiss good night. Blessed is the eye of the beholder here in this lil piece of paradise.
