Didn't rate "rooms" as we only were at the restaurant! We were a group of 12 Seniors from Blooming Grove Baptist Church.

The restaurant has a large menu selection. From appetizers to burgers and sandwiches to full on meals with many choices. Our waitress, Belle, was great! The food was served quickly for us being a big bunch! Everyone enjoyed their meals.

On Sundays, apparently there is a buffet in the large room. There are wonderful views of the water, as there are full windows. There's a small sitting area with a fireplace that looks cozy. The "main" area is the room with the bar on one end and an area for live music on the other. There is a very nice outdoor eating area - with fans - and terrific views.

Cons:

There is literally ONE Women's and ONE Men's restroom!! Like one toilet for a restaurant that seems it could easily seat maybe 150? And, tho it shows wheelchair accessible on the restroom signs, I really wouldn't consider them very accessible (I'm guessing the Men's was identical to the Women's) Getting in the door would be a tight turn. The door lock is way up high - noone in a wheelchair could reach it! Then the floor has quite a dip to a drain - which would make positioning your chair a bit of a challenge. It wasn't the "safest" for those of us who are disabled (using canes, wheelchairs or simply difficulty walking)

Also, when going to eat on the outdoor patio area? Be careful! The floor dips/is made at a slant. Disabled or clumbsy folks - youve been told!! Going back up - don't go where the boards are kind of cornered! There were a couple of us that hit an area that could have tripped us.

We all had a very enjoyable meal, enjoyed the view and had great service! We've heard the live music is very popular! Hubby n I will be back!

Great breakfast & serving food till the wee hours helped make sure I didn't go to bed hungry even though we arrived very late. I had the grilled cheese and a baked sweet potatoe both were hot and tastie. And I didn't wait long at all for them to be ready. The lounge area in front of the fireplace could use some oversized pillows. Beyond that, you just can't beat being greeted by the sound of a whip- poor- will's song resonating over the lake.

This hidden place is worth the drive. Had lunch there one Wednesday. Hardly anyone there at the time. They say the weekend evening hours are their busy time. (They usually have a musician/ band and they have a bar) But the lunch is fantastic. Huge catfish sandwich and fries. Take the time to eat lunch here.

My family is camping in Bankhead forest and we wanted to support local places for our meals. Despite the bad service reviews, we went anyway. A meal on the lake sounded like our kind of thing.

I ordered beers at the bar and asked for a server as we were sitting outside. When the server came, we ordered and it took longer than it should have for drinks. We ordered an appetizer and our meal. Two of us got side salads, for some reason she brought 1. Just 1 side salad. We watched as a table from beside us moved closer to the door(we were on patio) and noticed how they got all of their items - from a different server- first even though they had a larger party. This was the “last straw”—I asked the bartender to close my tab and explained the situation. He was so kind and he is the best thing about this place! While we were getting my tab closed out, the server was leaned up against a table having a good time. If you’re not interested in sitting at the bar, don’t waste your time here.

The property itself had nice views. The rooms seemed outdated. They were not clean, with lots of spiders and spider webs; they didn’t look like they had been cleaned in years. The sinks and tubs were dirty and stained, and the sheets were also stained. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable. Also, at night, the property was poorly lit. While the morning staff at the front desk were great, the night staff acted like you were bothering them, and they did not want to be there.
