If you have not gone to the Highland branch library, I would definitely recommend it. They have so many great things for kids especially. Tons of animals (rabbits, birds, fish, reptiles, mice, guinea pigs and more) and a roof top garden which is open Saturday mornings from 9-10:30am. Such a bright spot in the community! Friendly staff and tons of free programs that kids can participate in

We just moved to the area from CO. This library structure is relatively new, ample parking. We'll organized books shelves by genre and alphabetical. The front desk and reference staff are very 0leasant and helpful. Enough areas to sit down and read or work. Could definitely do with more private study rooms, currently just 1 on 1st come and use. There is a very nice separate children's section with live pet household animals, snakes, fishes and birds- quiet unique for a library but very entertaining for kids. Restrooms are clean. Copier and printer available (15c/page for b/w and 50c/page for color)
The wifi is free to use, but is quite slow- see pic of my speed test.

IF YOU COME HERE, LOOK OUT FOR THE ITCHY BUGS EVERYWHERE! I’ve come here on 2 occasions this year and came out with little bugs that look like fleas on me!!! First it started with me sitting in the adult novel section going towards the back of the library and feeling a little itchy. I would go to scratch and notice what looked like a little brown crumb on me. Then 10 or 15 mins later I would scratch again in a different spot and there would be another brown spot. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I came a second time trying to give it the benefit of the doubt but still the same problem occurred. I ALWAYS WALK OUT OF THIS LIBRARY ITCHING WITH BITES! I even wiped the table down with a disinfectant wipe the 2nd time and it still didn’t stop those bugs. The wipe also turned black with dirt after wiping so that also tells you how often then clean this place… just an entirely gross, unclean, and infested library! Management should be ashamed! Do better San Bernardino County!

This library is a mixed bag. Dark and uninviting. Customer service is below average. They keep the restroom locked and you have to show your library card to use it. This is a problem because you could wait 20 minutes to speak to a clerk. The community room is only available for library events so it's diused most of the time. Parking is terrible -- park on the street for easier in & out. Reference desk is poorly trained. You're better off doing a ChatGPT or Google Search. Terrible hours -- clearly working people aren't welcome. This is a county library so they don't cooperate with the San Bernardino City library. You'd need to get a library card for both. They're pretty much focused entirely on pre-teens and ingore all other age groups.

My kiddos absolutely love this library! Everyone is always friendly and ready to help. The fish tanks and animal exhibits are always a nice distraction for the kids. Library itself is clean and has a wide selection of genres to choose from. There are always events, contests and live performances to participate in and keep the kids excited to meet reading goals. If you haven't had a chance to visit, I highly recommend it!
