I gave 1 star but in reality, they deserve 0 stars. This is the worst internet company I've ever had and I didn't think I'd ever say that after dealing with Woww Internet.

After having their service for just 3 weeks, I canceled them because my service was cut off 3 times within that period. The first time, they said my son downloaded an illegal game. My kid is 9 and doesn't know that illegal games even exist. Not only that, but it was downloaded over a year ago when we did not even have mediacom! We were told to delete the game and if it happened again, our service would be banned permanently.
So .... a week later, they turned it off again.this time it was apparently because after my son deleted the game, apparently 1 file from that game was left in a temp folder.
They then suspended the service for 48 hours ?

A week later, service off again. Apparently they have a 30 day billing cycle but decided to try to make me pay 2 bills even though my service had only been active for 3 weeks. They tried to make me pay the previous renters bill on top of mine! They also wanted to charge me for installation although the customer service rep told me it would be waived due to being a new customer. They wanted me to pay a $350 bill after having 3 weeks of service.

My kids attend virtual school and I work from home. All of these shady interruptions caused me to lose my job. Totally unacceptable. This was the very first time in my life that I've ever encountered such blood pressure raising situations. NEVER again!

I'm happy with my new service and guess what? 3 weeks of service and not 1 single stupid disconnection!

Your customer service reps need training BTW. 8 customer service reps and each of them told me a different thing. Nobody takes notes and updates accounts. I worked for AT&T for 6 years and never once did we have major discrepancies like this. Your reps can't tell their heads from their butts.

So apparently I have a cap that I was unaware of. It's apparently 400gb, and I've used 331gb of that.(in 2 weeks of having it.) So I call to see what happens after that. The guy says I have 2500gb. "Okay so why did I get this text saying I only have 400 and that I've used 75% of that?" On hold for 10 minutes only to hear I have 2000gb and that I've used 331gb of that. Okay so why did I get this text message On hold for another 5 minutes to hear that I have 400gb and that I've used 331gb of that. "Okay you're telling me different things, now I don't want to talk to you, let me talk to a manager." I just want to know what happens after I used it all, and if I could maybe upgrade because clearly I'm in need of more than that. On hold for friggin EVER just to hear there are no managers available. "I'll wait." On hold even longer just to hear there are no managers available. I should have read these reviews earlier but this is the only high speed internet available in the area I just moved to. Absolutely pathetic and my situation isn't half as bad as some of these poor people. This company as garbage, save yourself the headache. I will be canceling as soon as I can and upgrading my Hotspot on my cell.

Mediacom = mediocre. Internet works fine, but sometimes slows up, but can get past that. I can't get past how hard it is to pay my bill. The app is crap and never works for bill pay. Half the time I try to pay online the website never loads or works. Never had a company make it so hard to pay my bill. If I had better options in my area, I would jump ship quick.

We were without internet and cable for a week waiting for our appointment for tech to come out and help us fix the problem. Mr. Ron Fritz was our tech and he was phenomenal. He stayed longer than he planned to make sure we were taken care of by rewiring our internet/cable. He took his time and made sure he checked all the blocks before he left us. His customer service was excellent and I recommend this service to anyone!!!! Thank you Mr. Ron!!!!

Prices increased from $70 a month $172.00 after being a loyal customer for years. Absolutely ridiculous pricing for internet only. When I called to negotiate the price they told me to apply for government assistance.

Edit: A lovely representative named Rhonda was able to assist me and help me with my concerns. I’m glad I get to keep service with Mediacom as I do enjoy the reliability and services they provide.

Internet reliability is good.
This rating is for customer service and communication.
They did not bury the line when I moved in and somehow it got cut- likely when mowing since it wasn’t in the ground. When they came out to diagnose and found it the kid said they will give 15 minutes notice or text when they get there. When? What day? That’s practically no notice. My dog does not like strangers and I told the guy they need to give warning before coming.

How ridiculous.

Here we are today- Monday afternoon and someone just shows up without calling. A single guy with a shovel.

Good thing I was home. Hope that is deep enough to keep the wire intact.

I have had internet service for 5 days with Medicom and it has been down more than is been up !!! I work from home so this isn’t going to work for me!! Trying to find a different provider that doesn’t have as many issues!

They just keep going up, up and up. I called this morning and spoke with Quel and she said that unless I wanted to drop one of their services (cable, internet or phone) that was the price.

No negotiation on their end.
