Had an absolutely wonderful experience with Captain Josh and Andrew aboard the Rip Tide. TLDR: do yourself a favour and book this experience. You won’t regret it.

It was a gorgeous September afternoon and we couldn’t have asked for more in terms of a guide and what we saw.

We went out and were lucky enough to view a pod of humpback whales, see some sea lions sunbathing, view sea otters playing, and watch a pod of orcas up close.

One of the orcas even played with Captain Josh and a rope on the boat.

The drone footage will be an exceptional feature to this memory.

It truly was an outstanding experience from start to finish, helmed by professionals who radiate passion for what they do.

What an amazing day on the water with Captain Josh and his first mate. Truly a bucket list adventure being in the middle of a pod of super active orcas . The crew expertly position the boat to get the best shots of the orcas activities. we spent a better part of an hour, just following the pod around and seeing them show their flutes, jump and breach the water.
We later relocated to another area frequented by humpback whales. Josh’s acute knowledge of whale behavior gave us a heads up on what to expect with the whales next move.
What set this whale watching tour aside from others is their drone. They launched drone right off the boat to get overhead shots of all the activity. Truly gives you different perspective and a better view. . At the conclusion of the tour they provide you with the flash drive of all the video.
I also like the idea that their boat relatively small with a capacity of 14 passengers. Not packed in with the larger boats of 150 passengers. Both these crewmembers were very personable, knowledgeable, and truly want to give you the best experience possible.

Go with Josh and Andrew to experience a small group whale watch experience from incredibly knowledgeable, personable and passionate individuals and skip the mass ships the cruise tries to push on you. Our experience was priceless and the drone footage was the best keepsake and incredibly impressive.

Captain Josh and mate took my wife and I out 7/23/24 Whale watching & drone tour and it was amazing. Absolutely no disappointments here with either of these two gents. They were personable and knowledgeable, their boat was comfortable, and the whales were plentiful!! Actually they were non stop in all directions. Also sea lions and otters and deer! And since we were in his smaller vessel of 12-14, we didn’t have to fight for views like those who took the cruise ship excursions. Do yourself a favor, book with the local guys, you will be thrilled with the results, save some money, and get a sweet tour with lots of whales

Great tour! We had several whale sightings and our guide was very knowledgeable. We even saw a couple of brown bears, porpoises, and sea lions. The boat was very comfortable and it was easy to get a good view, especially since it accommodates a smaller group than many of the other tours we saw.
