Loved my visit. Great desk with privacy dividers and plugs for working. Librarians are friendly and knowledgeable. Open, spacious and delightful library.

We received a letter from this library after returning a children's book. The letter said that the book was damaged beyond being usable, and that I must pay $15. I came into the library and looked at the book; there were a few pen scribbles on one page, not even over any words-not unusable, by any means. Most libraries would have simply marked 'noted' by the pen markings and let patrons keep using it.
Anyway, I made the mistake of not bringing my kids with me to the library. After I paid the $15 and told my children about the marks on the book, they told me that the marks had been there since they had first gotten the book, and they were put there by someone else. I asked the library for my money back, and they wouldn't give anything.
So, before you check out a book at this library, look through it for ANY damage that's already there, or they will make YOU pay for it.

This library is surprisingly large considering the size of the town. They also have a very large DVD selection. The library was very quiet and had a number of places to sit scattered around.

It's a small library compared to those in large cities, but is very important in our small town of Benson. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is handicapped parking and the library is wheelchair accessible. It's a great place for people to meet.

I had to print out some documents I had my 2 boys who are autistic. There were only 3 other people. I was trying my best to keep them quiet and the librarian came up knowing they are autistic told me to keep them quiet. I said I'm doing my best they are autistic. She said it that normally this would be ok but it's a disruptive to others. I was very upset and left because of this medical discrimination. I thought of going back and finding books about autism and tell her to read these and not be so ignorant. I will never go there again.

I love bringing my boys here. All the librarians are always so very helpful. They provide great suggestions and are quick to locate out of stock items for transfer from surrounding libraries in the county.
