The directions for our pickup spot were extremely clear to understand. They had a caddy and a hummer limo. How fun. The male boat operator and tour guide was amazing and extremely engaging. The other gal was aloof and rarely had her nose out of her phone. That was super irritating.

The locals communicate together to share where the whales are located. Everyone was able to get good views of the whales. They adp took us to see a sea lion and sea otters. ?

Captain Dennis was the perfect guy to be leading our whale watching tour in Icy Strait Point, and his wife Crystal was the perfect sidekick, offering limo transport to and from cruise dock. We moved around alot and were able to see alot of cool views from a mother/baby whale combo, to some feuding sea lions. You cannot beat the intimate feel that the small/heated vessel offers!

As a person who's a little skeptical of online reviews I can assure you there's a reason why everyone gives Catch of the Day five stars. Captain Dennis has the kind of personality that makes you feel immediately welcome and relaxed, and his years of experience put him above the bigger boats that were darting here and there at top speeds trying to catch up with the whales that we spotted first.

We really enjoyed being on a smaller boat. We didn't have to squeeze through crowds of people to get a good view and we had a personable experience with the captain of the ship who answered all our questions and had plenty of interesting stories to tell. This was our first time seeing humpbacks in the wild and we had the time of our lives.

And as if that wasn't enough... We started and ended our excursion with a ride to and from our cruise ship in a limousine. Truth be told, I'm not really one to be impressed by that kind of stuff from the outside. But the ride was so comfortable that it truly completed an awesome overall experience.

Thank you, Crystal and Captain Dennis for giving us such a memorable day in Alaska. You do an excellent job and we wish you all the best.

This was our first trip to Alaska and we were lucky enough to be on board with Captain Dennis. It was nice to be on a smaller boat without a crowd of people on top of you. The scenery was GORGEOUS and Dennis made sure to point out all of the wildlife so we could see as much as possible. We saw killer whales, humpbacks, eagles and much more. It was an amazing trip that we’ll never forget! I highly recommend them!

Wow! What an amazing trip we had! Captain Dennis and Captain Brent have the experience and knowledge you want for a whale watching tour. They only do 6 passengers max so you get the personalized attention that you don’t get on the other crowded boats. Not only did we get some amazing humpback encounters, we also saw sea otters, porpoises, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, bald eagles, grizzly bears on shore, and ORCA WHALES. I’ve always wanted to see them in the wild. You won’t always see everything, but that’s wild nature and what makes it a true adventure. We also did a second trip with them to enjoy more beauty of SE Alaska. We had so much fun on the first day, we had to do another trip. We already booked a private charter with them for next year because we’re bringing some family with us.

Great tour. We intentionally booked a small boat whale watch to avoid the crowded rails on larger boats. This was perfect; 5 passengers, very comfortable boat and lots of whales and a grizzly feeding on salmon. Dennis and Allie were great. Highly recommend!
