Michelle Dragony, owner of the limited liability corporation Coastside Buzz, perports to run a website that facilitates communication. Her website states:
"I saw the potential for infinite Coastal Content. Everyone can have a voice and anyone can listen from anywhere."
The truth is very different. Michelle has refused to publish content written by members of the Mid Coast Coummunity Council. The council was established by the board of supervisors to be the voice of the coastside. She has also refused many locals who offer op-eds.
Michelle accepts funds from government organizations in the state. Since she runs a corporation and not a non-profit, there is no requirement for her to list the levels and sources of her funding. Many who have been critical of San Mateo County government have been heavily censored from her site.
Bottom line Coastside Buzz is not some altruistic corporation but an idealogical echo chamber run by a single person with an unknown agenda. Her coastside directory is a significant source of revenue. If you are not a fan of censorship then don't support her agenda with your purchases.
Update: Michelle attends meetings and then ignores calls and emails from people with opposing views. You want an example well I'm one of many you have ghosted because you are a coward.
You are outright lying when you claim to have never refused an op-ed. While you publish most op-eds from the MCC you have also refused a few.
Talk is cheap concerning your funding. You should provide a full accounting of the money your receive from government sources. The taxpayers deserve to know who you are beholding to. And it isn't free speech on the coast.
Boycott!
