It takes a LOT to get me to give a one-star review. In fact, I've never done one. Congratulations, you're my first, of what I hope to be very few. I really, genuinely, try to give everyone a chance. But you guys, are out of chances.
First, for a city of nearly 200K, there seems to be a serious lack of news, judging by the newspaper. Lots of sales, though. I feel like it's almost easier to get local news from the Thrifty Nickel, there's that many ads.
I've lived in this area for 45+ years, and remember when you used to be a decent newspaper.
Maybe someone there can inform your overlords at Gannett, that a good part of your readership, live in areas with bad, to no, internet. I'm one. Try to read the paper online, and you have time to make a cup of coffee, while the ads load. Not everyone is able to get the sort of internet required to support this. Not everyone has the know-how to dodge the onslaught of ads your site loads.
To be fair, you're not the only ones.
Don't drink the Kool-aid. There's much better options for local news.

Tried the $1 for 6 months online version. When I went to cancel there is no cancel option on the web site. So I started a Live Chat. 1 hour later still working with the agent who is very slow. First they took 20 minutes to locate the account. Then offered me $2.99 a month. Then couldn't locate the account again. OMG Anyway, so the paper is OK. I'm giving it 2 stars for the actual content. Not much happening in FOCO. The web site and service would be zero to 1 star.

We like the paper and how it follows the local football teams of Ft Collins area high schools.
One complaints when asking to have newspaper delivered to our deck this past month because we are currently disabled due to surgeries and unable to pick up papers thrown and many times has ended up under our cars making it difficult to get papers picked up and have had to have neighbors move our car to get at newspaper. Can't you help get something done to help two disabled 79 year--old people get our paper delivered as we requested .

After 30 some years of frustration at our mediocre newspaper, I am pleased to be able to say that the Coloradoan has taken a turn for the better over the last year. Thanks, it would seem, to new management, the paper now carries articles about goings on in our community rather than articles mostly pulled from the wire. I do think there is still room for improvement, however, given the size of our city. And given the the size of the Coloradoan's 'new' building, one might also assume there is ample room for a large crew of reporters to crank out wonderful stories about our community and its varied members. I still wait, however, for more feature stories about the many interesting businesses, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, musicians, local characters, etc. that call Ft Collins home, and I do hope to see more in the future.

If you take out the ads, comics, AP and USA Today cut and pastes, old news that has been out for days, there is nothing left. Been with them for decades but when they went to $50 a month for a paper that blows away from the driveway if the wind blows more than 5mph I had to call it quits. Went to the Denver Post for $20 a month less and have a lot to read and enjoy. I'm afraid they are going down the tubes.

Anyone else having trouble cancelling this newspaper? They charge me more per month than they advertise for a year. When you call, you're told there is a 2-3 hours wait time. They do not respond to cancellation requests via email or online chat. I cancelled payment on my credit card, yet the newspaper still comes and I continue to be billed. The billed me $19 one month, $28 the next month, plus a $11.81 for Change in Delivery Service Rate or Length (whatever that is). They say I currently owe them $58.81 for a newspaper I cancelled. The paper is not that great to begin with. I don't recommend subscribing due to their unethical billing practices.

I wanted to subscribe to the Coloradoan but after 3 attempts in the last 4 months I have given up. Today I tried online, was told my credit card info was not accurate (2 people checked it and it was accurate- used it after this experience to subscribe to the Denver Post), so called the 'customer service' number. Was on hold for 27 min then they answered and disconnected me and of course no one called me back. I WAS determined so I stopped by the Coloradoan building on Riverside at 12:20, sign says Lobby Hours 8 - 1 but door was locked and man who finally unlocked door said they were closed due to lack of coverage....not sure what that means but he did not really care either. SO after numerous attempts from numerous approaches I have determined that papers are in trouble because they provide such poor service. Hope advertisers take note as we are new to FC and will now go elsewhere for news and events info. As an FYI, subscribed to Denver Post in 5 min.
