Had a great experience creating pottery on the wheel, which I had not done in over 20 years. It was great mom and daughter time with my daughter who was completely new to the experience. It was grounding, relaxing, and therapeutic. Emily and Jana were great instructors. They were both welcoming and patient. We will return 😉!

I enrolled and completed Kim's 6-week beginner pottery course and I have to say that it completely exceeded my expectations. Kim is an excellent teacher. She began each class with a demonstration and was always around to answer questions and offer assistance when you needed it. She's so incredibly patient and kind! I love how the classes are so small and how you really can produce some pretty awesome looking pieces! I'm signing up for another class! Thank you, Kim!

Sailing Adrift Studios is located in a beautiful, large, and open space. I felt very comfortable with the space and the physical distance from the other students. I enjoyed learning how to wheel throw pottery. Kim is a very knowledgeable teacher with an easy going teaching style. She is very respectful about asking how much help you want with your project. Pottery making is a much more complex process than I imagined. I have gained a new respect for my pottery pieces now that I know how much goes into each piece. I am looking forward to continuing to learn and hone my pottery making skills.

I took a six week wheel throwing class and loved it! Kim is a knowledgeable and patient teacher and I was able to learn a lot in a short amount of time. I brought home a dozen or so pieces that I am actually pretty happy to say I made! Kim's studio is so peaceful and lovely, the perfect place to spend 3 hours a week learning a new skill. If classes are not your jam, stop in to purchase one of her gorgeous pieces. We are so lucky to have Kim in Jonestown selling her beautiful pottery and teaching the fun skill of wheel throwing.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Sailing Adrift Studios & owner/founder Kim Press! Once upon a time in college, I took a pottery class. I learned more in 1 day from Kim than I did the whole semester! She is helpful, patient, encouraging & bonus, she’s fun too!! I love the vibe of her studio, the organization & her demonstrations at the beginning of each class are mesmerizing. I highly recommend for anyone to try her 6 week class, whether you’re intermediate skill, dabbled in pottery or never touched clay before! You will thank yourself (and of course Kim!) for this opportunity and gift of sharing her love of wheel throwing and all the other interesting aspects involved💚

Wow! Such an amazing experience! I truly enjoyed my hand pottery class with Ashley at Sailing Adrift! Kim has created a beautiful space to allow people to explore their creativity using clay. I enjoyed it so much I signed up for a second class with Kim on the wheel so I can continue to build my skills. So fun, I absolutely love it!
