We had looked to change agents on a few of our policies to someone local, so we found Jenni and set up a meeting. Mind you it took several phone calls over multiple weeks to get ahold of her. But we finally did hook up and the meeting went great. We made an agent of record change and more importantly had her begin the paper work to surrender one of my life insurance policies. I was told I would receive notice in the mail in a few weeks.
Fast forward 5 weeks. I had not received any thing from farmers and thought that was weird. I emailed Jenni. No response for a week. I emailed her ‘urgent’ email, and again no response, so several days later I called the office and reached her directly, explaining the situation and was given a very confusing response including ‘you may just need to call them yourself to cancel it.’ And that ‘I have tried calling them but and waiting to hear back from them and I’ll let you know today at noon.’
Seems a little suspicious that she had undertaken this leg work without any response to my inquiries let alone an acknowledgement of even receiving my messages. She never did call me back.

I called farmers life insurance directly and they had not received the policy change document. It wasn’t sent to them or at least didn’t end up in the right place. I would expect an agent of the company to know this and to followup with me on its status.
In filing out the form at her office I was told that I needed to claim whether taxes were taken from my cash value amount or to withhold them at tax filing. This was incorrect. The farmers representative told me the cash value value is not taxable by the government. Again, I would expect someone selling and advising on these policies to know this.

I reached out again to Jenni later that afternoon to inform her that I was making the cancellation myself and to update her that her documents were not received. To no surprise, she didn’t respond.

We will be moving agencies. I hope this review of my experience will be helpful in others determining who they want looking after their policies and being entrusted in making important changes. I expect better. I couldn’t imagine holding my home policies and autos with her given the complete lack of communication, honesty and incorrect information given to me. Had this been something more pressing like a home or auto policy issuance or change, it could’ve been a disaster.

0 stars. Totally been ripped off by this agent. I used this agent based on recommendation when I purchased my new home. She called to tell me my rates went up by $3000. I asked for different quotes/options and she never made an effort to help me. She said she called back once... and just hit me with a lavish policy that NEVER fit what I needed. I never agreed to this policy! Upon my mortgage going up $600 a month I discovered my policy was taking advantage of my new home ownership situation. A very crooked and unprofessional agent. For two years i have been paying for more than I need. She does not care not will she try to make things right. Shame on your business practices. It's too small of a world to rip real people off. You have no customer appreciation. I am motivated to continue to expose what you did. And will continue to expose this publicly for the rest of my life. You lost my business and hopefully more. Shame. On. You.

If any lender/realtor local to Canon City refers you to Jennifer at Farmers insurance please beware! This is borderline organized corruption. A scam at the least. Do your research and look within what she offers. There are much better agents with better policies all over. This is by far the worst insurance agency you can choose on the market today. They live off the medicocre small town "I can get away with ripping people off who dont know better". Well guess what.
