We enjoy going to the St Anthony area, experiencing this level of excellent service and food. The three salsas that come with chips and dip and a margarita are worth the whole trip. The chef understands authentic Mexican food; the flavors are a treat. We were seated by the front window, where the view of the bridge and downtown is fantastic.

My girlfriend and I came in and had the best experience. The host/manager was very friendly and enthusiastic. We regret not getting his name. Our server Ezra was amazing and attentive. We loved the bartender’s music, it definitely added to the atmosphere. All employees made us feel at home. The food was delicious. We definitely will be back.

This spot on Main Street has a truly special atmosphere, especially in the outdoor seating area, which adds a great vibe to the experience. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and well-prepared, though I felt the prices were a bit on the higher side. Overall, it’s a lovely place to enjoy a meal and relax – highly recommend for a nice night out!

Visiting St. Anthony Main is like traveling to some quaint European village. We sat on the patio of Jefe to celebrate our anniversary. Great place to people watch and get a view of downtown Minneapolis. The food was delicious, of course, but the star of the meal was the dessert. I always appreciate a restaurant that offers gluten-free or friendly options other than swapping out bread on a sandwich. We each had an entree and shared the dessert - that was enough for me. Although, we had to take a secondary stop for my husband as he was still hungry.

Everything was good here! We enjoyed our margaritas, birria tacos, and enchiladas. None of the food blew us out of the water but it was all really solid. Service was a bit slow on a Thursday night with a full patio. I’d definitely recommend a visit for the great patio scenery and tasty tacos.

Jefe looks amazing inside, and the staff was very helpful and attentive. Typically, seating outside in summer has a wait but there are plenty of seats inside available for immediate seating. Menu is not expansive by any means. I got the fried tortillas that they use for chips and the three different salsas. The mango habanero changed my life and was by far the highlight of my entire meal. The shrimp tacos were underwhelming and very basic at $6 per taco. The plantains were hot and delicious. Overall, it was an okay meal with sprinkles of great here and there.

Food quality has noticeably suffered since the last head chef left. It was already over priced, but I’ve heard from staff they started buying cheaper ingredients to cut costs. Now they are increasing prices again. Good thing they won’t be allowed to charge their deceptive surcharge that carried over from the pandemic anymore.

After witnessing the owner Jeff and his son Shane’s treatment of their employees, it’s hard for me to believe they are good people. Most of the employees who made the amazing atmosphere and gave exceptional customer service have either been fired or quit, which has been a consistent pattern at this restaurant. The turnover rate is very high because they get sick of paying the “trusted” employees they promoted and then lay them off or offer them an overqualified demotion. It’s seems as if they put the blame of their business failures on everyone but themselves. So expect to see new faces when dining here.

However, I would not recommend eating here, and definitely not working here. If you are a big fan of the Main Street vibe, I strongly recommend Cabana Club right next door. It just opened and they have an incredible menu, and you can tell their employees are happy to be working there. 🙂
