Mogg and Associates was referred to us by a Financial Planner.
My husband and I waited a couple of weeks to have a Zoom call with Mark.
The main reason for us reaching out was for tax planning and consulting. We have a large portfolio and wanted help with Retirement tax planning, Small Business accounting, Estate Planning, and education around tax laws.
Mark was not engaging.The only thing Mark wanted to talk about was tax preparation, which was quite expensive. We would need to pay him for that service before he would be willing to allow us to talk with Brian about our main concerns.
We agreed. When wrapping up the call, I asked him what the next steps were to move forward. Mark asked us to send him a copy of our prior year taxes.
Imagine my surprise when he sent an email a few minutes later stating that we were not a good fit for Mogg and Associates.
I didn’t realize that WE were on an interview!
I responded by asking him the criteria that Mogg used to determine who was a good fit, so we could better understand their unwillingness to work with us.
No response.
Seriously, I feel like we dodged a bullet, especially after reading other reviews.
There are plenty of other Tax Planning firms that I’m sure will be happy to take our business.

I HATE giving negative reviews so it's taken a long of time for me to actually write and post this review. However, this firm handled our company and family with such low professionalism and detail that I need to make sure others are aware of the possibility when engaging this firm. Working with Mogg ended up costing us thousands of more dollars than we have ever paid on accounting services. Once we left the firm we had to redo/correct much of their expensive work. The invoicing was always a surprise and only when questioned, we would receive detailed invoiced that did not match up with our services but we were still required to pay. The service was terrible, invoicing horrendous, and the quality of bookkeeping and tax projections caused more stress and money than good. One of many Examples: We scheduled a tax meeting, the tax projections were 100% wrong so we waited in the meeting for the owner to sit there and pull the correct information, redo his projections (they had all the access to right info the whole time but didn't pull correctly?) - we still got charged for every min we were there when most of the time he was fixing his mistakes. I have many examples like this for this is how they operate on all levels in our experience. I now have experience at another accounting firm that is WAAAAYYYYY more affordable. We also now experience a million times better quality and accuracy so I know it exists. Our books are more accurate, stress free, clean, and understandable (and affordable) now that we are not with Mogg. I wish I had someone tell me this before we engaged this firm. Go somewhere else!

Excellent accounting firm! Bryan has handled my LLC for years. Service has always been prompt, advice sound, and quality of work impeccable. I highly recommend Mogg, Hoeye & Associates to anyone in need of a firm that will treat you with respect and give you the confidence that your accounting and tax work is being handled accurately and correctly.

This is the absolute worse run firm I have ever dealt with.
Please read all of this prior to doing business with this firm. First we started with Amy and she was great. After Bryan took over we had issues with payroll, basic accounting practices, etc. We switched accountants and paid $1000's of dollars for another accountant to fix the mistakes Mogg, Hoeye & Associates made over the last few years. While fixing these mistakes we learned that they never sent in my personal returns from 2017. After contacting them about it they wanted over $1000 to do a job they were already paid for in 2017 through our monthly service charge. I asked them to work out a deal with me because the return was already over a year late and they messed up but they decided to not work with me at all. They held my return hostage until I paid the $1000 charge they “made up” only because we switched accounting firms. What kind of business makes a huge mistake, will not admit the mistake, and then is unwilling to do anything for you? A business that you should stay away from! I am not a big One Star review person but Mogg, Hoeye & Associates had 3-4 chances to make this right but in the end they were rude, unprofessional, and wrong in the way they handled this situation. My recommendation is to stay away from this business.

Took me a while to write this review as I usually don't like giving bad ones. For tax return 2020 the IRS got back to me with some letters. Not really knowing how to reply to such letters I looked for help. I found Mark online and called him to explain my case. He gladly took my case telling me that he would solve my issue. After only 3-4 weeks of getting his help and $600, he decided to stop helping. Telling me he was going to be too busy. He tried spinning me off to another service and in the such service was not able to help me after another 4 weeks of waiting.

In the end, no part of my issue got solved, I was out $600 and left without help.

I don't think its fair to tell your clients that you will be able to fix something and then leave them and on top of that charge them for not solving the problem.

These guys can and will help! Nothing but kudos for my accounting firm.
Please know that I rarely take the time to give reviews whether good or bad. If Google had 10 stars, I would still want to choose 12!
Context: We had Jeff come to our location for a training consult. I was hesitant to call on their services because of what I ASSUMED the cost would be. I can handle a lot of services on my own, but found that I needed some polishing and perfecting. We saved all our questions and hammered poor Jeff with all of them today. He: had answers for everything and resolutions for issues we face specifically, helped amend as we came across discrepancies and withheld all traces of judgment on items that you usually try to hide under the rug for no one else to see.

If you are looking for a great accounting firm, I very strongly recommend these guys. As an added bonus, you get to support a local Littleton company. Although I will miss Amy, I know that I am great hands with the new staff.

The reason I gave this firm a 3 is that they did just enough but didn't go beyond in their service. Although they completed our returns, they would have been a more valuable resource by being more dialed in to our overall tax situation and more helpful recommending strategies to soften the impact of the revised tax tables.
