This museum is absolutely amazing! Me and my wife thought it was such a hidden gem. Their WW1-Vietnam section was great. Out back the have an old prison with inmate scribble from 100yrs ago, a courthouse, a home from the 1800s, a fantastic blacksmith building. I highly recommend to anyone who loves museums and the old west. The Moffitt rd. Exhibit was great also! The young lady working there was so nice and informative. Will go again one day!

Although the outside looks unkempt, the inside is amazing. The museum is informative and the pioneer buildings are restored well. The train car has info on skiing and worth the time too.

Very extensive detail throughout the museum and the addition historical buildings, it was shocking to see what a school house and primers were actually like back then. I loved wandering through the years and was intrigued to learn there were POW camps in Fraser and archeological finds of prehistoric animals locally! The train car was a very neat addition to the museum and overall I felt they included most details of any local history. I would like to see an addition of more recent events as I have gathered Grand County has an interesting recent history with the Killdozer snd East Troublesome Fire. I hope to adopt a pioneer in the future before I leave this summer to help support!

We only had time for a short visit, but so well laid out for a self guided tour!
It gave a real flavor of life in the late 1800's to early 1900's. Skiing history and an early snow grooming machine are there as well.
Here is a picture of the washing machine in the log house.

Pioneer Village Museum has quite a lot of different rooms filled with local history. The museum also has two locomotives outside and also several authentic buildings to wonder through; such as the old school hours, court, blacksmith, etc. It also had the largest turquoise stone bracelet I have ever seen with an interesting history behind. Since I am in awe of the hardships that pioneers endured, I always enjoy learning about their history.

This place is an amazing little gem of a museum. Lots of neat relics from the 1800s. Knowledgeable curator. Built into an old school building so the atmosphere is quaint and rustic. Great for families wanting a cultural stop.
