Absolute worst experience in site building. Incompetent, delays upon delays, errors upon errors. We’ve hired developers to fix their build for 3 months after they turned it over.
After I posted this review, I received an email from their « Legal », threatening to take down our website and claimed rights to our URL’s or else! URL’s and domain names we have owned for 15 years through 3 previous sites. Needless to say they have been paid in full per contract! After they build what they call a working website, before they hand the site over, they make you sign a disclaimer document, relieving themselves of all responsibility and then they come back and claim all rights to it. Beware of the type of company you are dealing with. Too bad this review doesn’t come with zero stars.

I began working with Solution21 in 2016 to build a website for my new medical practice. I requested that I maintain ownership of content and domain name. However, via small print referring online, it turns out that they retained the ownership, which is no longer a common practice for an ethical web developer. I was referred via a lukewarm review from a friend, who admonished me to retain rights to my content and domain name.

I had to inform them of the rash of lawsuits for ADA-noncompliant pages, where many web developers were warning their users of the need to update their webpages due to physicians in my region being targeted for lawsuits. They were not particularly concerned about their clients in this matter, but advised me to purchase an expensive widget. I was also pressured into an expensive SEO package that did little to promote my business.

I was ready to move on about a year ago and try a new web designer so they offered to redesign my site for me. I was impressed by the offer, but less so by the new website they made. I had difficulty getting the website to be free of numerous typos, formatting errors, and aesthetically pleasing. I can only imagine that they no longer had the designer they used previously, who did an adequate if not outstanding job. It seems they no longer have a qualified design team to put together a professional-looking site.

I began shopping for another designer and found a fantastic one. Meanwhile, my needs grew and I needed comprehensive calendars and emails for my office. Unfortunately, Solution21 hosts on an archaic system that does not allow for a Google Workspace account to be made under my domain name. I had to purchase an alternate domain name myself (about $25) for this purpose.

When I informed Solution21 I would be leaving as I had a new site made, they have held my own name hostage. They will not give me my original domain name, and are insisting on $4000 to sell it to me. They have no further use for my name and title, which I spent years in school for. They refuse to come down on the price to anything reasonable and this is clearly retaliatory for me taking my business to a more suitable designer.

I strongly recommend against engaging with this company. They create mediocre websites and price gouge. Physicians are often seen as targets for these types of predatory businesses. Stick with a more reputable company who allows you to keep the domain name if you're interested in a starter website.

Now, six years later, I’ve found many complaints online about Solution21, and they all seem warranted. I am concerned that this company attempts to take advantage of women in business, and this bullying is not to be tolerated. The owner refuses to call me back or respond to my voicemails, and instead has his lower level staff without decision-making authority relay messages to me.

I strongly urge you to look for a more professional designer. They are now threatening to sue me for this post, which is not something anyone expects from a their web designer.

We have been with Solutions 21 since 2017 and although they specialize in the different field , as a business association and a chamber of commerce we have been taken care of very well. Fred and his team are the best in town and responsive to all of our requests.
