Captain Billy was fantastic. He made sure we not only saw whales, but also sea lions and otters and a bear. We enjoyed learning about his family, Native American Tlingit traditons, his life as a police officer and life in Hoonah. Highly recommend.,

Capt Billy took us out for halibut fishing. He was friendly and helpful. He only had about three hours to get us loaded up, on the water and tackle in, but he was efficient and knew a variety of spots for us to try. In the short time, we caught halibut, rock fish and a flounder.
We also saw whales, otters and a brown bear with two cubs. It was a fun day and I would love to go out with Capt Billy again.

Our family had a great time with Captain Billy on a whale watching trip. The weather was beautiful and we saw a pod of humpback whales and seals too. The Silver Spoon accommodates 6 people. Although pricier than the larger tourist boats for whale watching, we thought the more intimate experience was worth the extra cost. You won't be elbowing another person to try to get pictures!

We had an excellent experience fishing for halibut with Captain Billy and his daughter. Everything was very organized and safe, and we learned a lot about the local area and culture. We caught four large "keepers" in a short period and, because we caught our allotment early, were able to then have the opportunity to explore local waters looking for whales and other sea life. Thanks!

Captain Billy is the real deal. The operation is smooth running, and he's an exceptional fisherman and host. We took only 20 minutes to get to our fishing spot, and the line hadn't even hit bottom when it first bites came. We ended up bringing a fish in every five minutes, and there was rarely a moment when a pole wasn't bobbing. Everyone came home on time and smiling ear to ear. Plus Billy makes packing and shipping home easy. If you're wanting Halibut while you're traveling the inside passage, then Billy is the guy to go to.

Love love love this trip and ESPECIALLY the captain. Billy is the absolute best ever! Next time im in Alaska i would spend 3-4 days with him doing various fishing and explorations.

A great time was had by all especially the grandkids. My granddaughter wanted to catch a fish bigger than her head and she did every time. Total for 2 1/2 hrs fishing for 4 people were 34 halibut, 2 cods and something else I forgot what it was. The captain was a funny guy with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Definitely recommend
